Cedars and the Surroundings
The UNESCO World Heritage site Cedars of God forest, is nestled above the town of Bsharri, some 2000 meters above sea level. The region has so much to offer, so we have list a few things you may like to do while you stay in the Cedars.
Take a walk through the Cedars
For a small fee, you may walk along a designated track and be inspired by the majestic beauty of the ancient Cedar trees, some as high as 35 meters tall and 14 meters wide and over 6000 years old. You will also find some cedar tree carvings by the famous local sculpture Rudy Rahme.
Local produce, cafes and restaurants
Taste the deliciousness of the local produce at the many cafes and restaurants. The climate and melting snow caps create the perfect environment for fresh and vibrant natural produce. Also enjoy the famous generosity of the locals
Activities
Take advantage of the many activities on offer during the summer and winter seasons
Qornet el Sawda
Take a trip to Qornet el Sawda, the highest peak in the middle east at 3093 meters above sea level. Take in the views from the sea and over to the mountains. On a clear day you can see Cyprus in the distance.
Oyoun Orghosh
Accessible only in summer is this oasis just over the eastern side of the mountains. Get there via ATV or drive along the mountains. The natural spring waters and abundant fish in the lakes provides a perfect setting to a number of restaurants serving the most wonderful local produce with the unmistakable generous nature of the local culture and cuisine.
Bsharri
Visit the town of Bsharri and its many historical sites, including the many beautiful churches and religious sites.
Khalil Gibran Museum
Visit the museum of the world famous and final resting place of the author of “The Profet”, Khalil Gibran.
Qadisha Grotto
Take a picturesque walk to the Qadisha Grotto. You will be amazed by the limestone formations and the natural spring waters
Qadisha Valley
Visit the Qadisha Valley, also know as the Valley of the saints. Trek through the marvellous natural valley and visit the monasteries and caves, which provided refuge to the Christians during the Ottaman empire.

Saint Charbel Bakafra
Visit Bakafra, the birthplace of Mar Charbel, Lebanon’s most loved saint. Take a tour through the life and many miracles as portrayed in the exhibitions on display in the village.
